Step 1: Go to the Google Ads Website

Visit the official Google Ads website:

Click on the “Start now” button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Sign in with a Google Account

You need a Google account to use Google Ads. Sign in with your existing account or create a new one. After signing in, you’ll be redirected to the Google Ads setup page.

Step 3: Create Your Google Ads Account

You’ll be asked to set up your first campaign. If you prefer to explore the platform first, look for a link that says “Switch to Expert Mode” (usually at the bottom of the page). This gives you full control over the campaign settings.

Click “Create an account without a campaign” if you just want to create the account now and set up campaigns later.

Confirm your business information:

  • Billing country

  • Time zone

  • Currency

Click “Submit” to complete the account setup.

Step 4: Set Up Your First Campaign

After creating the account, you can start creating your first campaign.

1. Choose Your Campaign Goal

Google Ads offers several campaign goals:

  • Sales

  • Leads

  • Website traffic

  • Product and brand consideration

  • Brand awareness and reach

  • App promotion

Choose the goal that best matches your marketing objective.

2. Select a Campaign Type

You can choose from different types of campaigns:

  • Search: Text ads on Google search results.

  • Display: Image or video ads across Google’s Display Network.

  • Shopping: Ads for retail products.

  • Video: Ads shown on YouTube.

  • Performance Max: Ads across all Google channels.

For beginners, a Search Campaign is a great starting point.

3. Set Your Campaign Settings

  • Campaign name: Choose a name you’ll recognize later.

  • Networks: Decide if you want your ads to appear on Search partners and the Display Network.

  • Locations: Select where your ads should appear (countries, regions, or cities).

  • Languages: Choose the language your customers speak.

  • Budget and bidding:

    • Set your daily budget.

    • Choose a bidding strategy (e.g., clicks, conversions, impression share).

4. Add Keywords

Keywords help Google show your ads to the right people. Use the Keyword Planner to find relevant keywords. Start with a few focused keywords related to your product or service.

5. Create Your Ads

Write a compelling ad that includes:

  • A headline (up to 3 parts)

  • A description (up to 2 parts)

  • Your display URL

Use clear, attractive language and include a call-to-action (e.g., “Buy now,” “Learn more”).

6. Review and Publish

After entering your ad content, review all settings. Make sure everything looks good, then click “Publish” or “Save and continue.”
